  • 04-12-2010: India's Gautam Gambhir became the eighth one-day international skipper to record successive hundreds, joining Ricky Ponting (twice), Mahela Jayawardene, Sanath Jayasuriya, Sourav Ganguly, Chris Gayle, Graeme Smith and Allan Border.
  • 25-01-2010: Gautam Gambhir equalled West Indian legend Vivian Richards' world record of most fifties (11) in consecutive Tests during his 68-run knock on the second day of the second Test against Bangladesh.
  • 20-01-2010: He is the first Indian, fourth in the world, to hit centuries in five consecutive Tests. Both Sunil Gavaskar and Rahul Dravid have hit centuries in four consecutive Tests.
  • Gautam Gambhir's 137 during the second Test is the best-ever by an Indian opener in New Zealand, bettering Sunil Gavaskar's 116 at Auckland in 1975-76.
